This project came as a result of me practicing some 3D animation in my down time (the final version of the practice video is at the bottom of this page). My department was transferred to another company, and when the new company saw what I had been doing with 3D animation, they asked me to make this video.
As a note: I did NOT create this sensor model. It was created by engineers who have spent countless hours working on all the details to make this a functioning product. They got the model to me, and I did all the texturing, lighting, animation, etc.
Everything else in the videos - the hangar, the crossbeams, the airplane, the display table - are things that I created and animated myself.

I didn't track how long this project took me, mainly because I thought it was just for fun and wouldn't go anywhere. But it ended up giving me the opportunity to actually create a 3D animation for the company my department was recently transferred to.
For this video, I created all the models, did the texturing, lighting, animation, wrote the script, sent it off for voice over, found and purchased the music, and edited it all together.
